Wakefield Motive Power Depot

On your left as you drive into City Fields was the Agbrigg Motive Power Depot, one of the largest steam locomotive sheds of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. Its coaling plant, which hoisted 20-ton trucks to the top and upended them to fill its bunker, which in turn filled steam locomotive tenders, was a well-known local landmark.
